STEM Summer Camp
Online or in-person — super fun!
MakerState's Online STEM inventor's club features live instruction and a new hands-on project every session in art, computer programming, game design, 3D design, and Minecraft engineering.
Join Zach and the team live on Zoom 3:30PM-5:00PM every Monday, Wednesday and Friday!
- Build 3D designs in TinkerCAD for 3D printing
- Code video games in MIT’s Scratch programming language
- Design and code epic worlds in Minecraft
Why Online Inventor’s Club IS SO MUCH FUN!
- Creating something new every day!
- Learning through play, art and games
- Hanging and socializing with your friends live
- Fun challenges to plan, build and improve
Required:
- Laptop or computer (no handheld devices or iPads)
- Parent help with set up and log in, especially on first day for young students
- For those students in a Minecraft session, a copy of Minecraft must be purchased ($27) and an account started with Mojang. Those two things can be done at this page.

How We Learn to Code, Design & Build
We’re building 3D designs in TinkerCAD for 3D printing, coding games in MIT’s Scratch programming language, and coding epic worlds in Minecraft. Read more about how much fun our live, online classes are below.

Scratch Coding from MIT
Budding computer programmers use Scratch to create interactive stories, games, and animations as they learn to code with color-coded blocks. Scratch was created at MIT to help young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively as they learn to code--essential skills for life in the 21st century. When young people learn to code in Scratch, they learn important strategies for solving problems, designing projects, communicating ideas, and practice fundamental academic skills in math, language arts, social studies and art as they code. Watch this to see how much fun Scratch can be.

TinkerCAD 3D Design
TinkerCAD is a free, easy-to-use app for 3D design, electronics, and coding. Any 3D object you can dream of can be built in TinkerCAD and even 3D printed. Kids can build with LEGO bricks or Minecraft blocks to make the 3D design extra fun. Kids can build simulated circuits and code automated objects or just have fun building what they imagine. No experience preferred! From mind to design in minutes--all you have to do is start building! See how TinkerCAD works in this video.

Minecraft Engineering
Minecraft is an open-world game that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in an immersive environment where the only limit is your imagination. Educators in more than 115 countries are using Minecraft across the curriculum to empower their students with critical 21st century skills like collaboration, critical thinking, and digital citizenship. From computer science to storycrafting to chemistry, Minecraft provides endless opportunities for exploration, storytelling and digital learning. See how teachers are using Minecraft to accelerate learning in English Language Arts, math, science, humanities, art and more in this video.
